About RDAP
RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the IETF-standardised replacement for the decades-old WHOIS protocol. It returns JSON rather than free-text, supports authentication for accessing non-redacted data, and is bootstrapped via IANA so the correct registry is queried automatically. RDAP surfaces events (registration, expiry, last changed), entities (registrant, admin, tech contacts), nameservers and status flags. For a more human-friendly view, see the WHOIS Lookup.
