About IP geolocation
IP geolocation maps an IP address to a physical location using databases maintained by the Regional Internet Registries and commercial providers. Accuracy varies: country-level is generally reliable, city-level can be off by tens to hundreds of kilometres, especially for mobile or satellite connections. The proxy and hosting flags indicate the IP may belong to a VPN, Tor exit node, or data centre, useful for security analysis. ASN (Autonomous System Number) identifies the network operator. Geolocation data should be treated as approximate and supplementary, it is not a substitute for legal attribution or law enforcement analysis.
